I like walnut flour for breading. Beef tallow for cooking fish. I dont eat much turkey. Pheasant I like to cook in the instapot with a dash of cider vinegar. Chicken broth garlic diced onion and caned tomatoes.

What'll ya drink? I can do the low carb food part ok, it's the drinks that kill me. Talking non-alcoholic drinks. Try some of this stuff no sugar or dyes it’s all clear no food coloring in it. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/10/full-18408-233033-img_4034.jpeg)

As a transition. People who drink soda are really addicted to it. Just a little concentrate.

Whatever you do, I don't recommend you low carb the kids. Glucose is a big part of the growth hormones.

lets put it into meals
tonight was a beef arm roast I treat this like a big steak , the side was green beans , wash it down with a miller lite
tomorrow is another roast , the wife went to the butcher today roast in a dutch oven in the oven with broccoli
Monday is a stir fry
Tuesday Tacos , no shell , a taco salad , greens, cheese , meat , some peppers , sour cream maybe a a little salsa , very little salsa
Wednesday is eggs often a cheese omelet
Thursday kielbasa and cabbage
Friday , fish and slaw I make my own slaw so it has no sugar
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

We had baked baked pork chops and brussels sprouts with melted butter on the sprouts. I dont miss carbs at all anymore. I did eat a small portion of corn bread at our trappers convention. Have ham and beans every year, Sure was good. On the rare occasion I eat something like that now my blood sugar doesn't spike. I believe it would though if I ate stuff like that very often. Daughter made me a chocolate cake for my birthday. Sweetened it with stevia. Used cream cheese cocoa and coconut flour. It was wonderful. Also made crawfish aytoofay. chopped up cauliflower real good to put it on stead of rice.

For breakfast I alternate. One day I have a three egg omelet with sauteed onions/mushrooms/bell pepper, american cheese and sausage crumble. the next day I'll have two eggs, bacon and one slice of toast. I've been doing this for a couple of years.\
For drinks, I drink diet pepsi. I tried to go to just water, but it affected my bun/creatin ratio, so I switched back and my numbers got back to normal.
These are some of the main courses I have for supper. Cauliflower crust pizza with sauteed mushrooms/bell peppers/onions/mozzarella cheese, pepperoni/ sausage, rotisserie chicken, baked stuffed bell peppers, beef steak, roasts, ribs, ham steak, pork chops, meat loaf, shrimp, fish, crab legs. So there's quite a variety. I'll usually always have a salad with the main course. No taters, pasta, bread, fruit or sweets. The only time I have bread is every other day for breakfast.
I've been doing this for two and a half years. So far I've dropped 112 pounds. It comes of slow, but it's coming off.

I tried a full strength Mountain Dew about a year ago and it was so sweet it dang near gagged me. I went two years without a Mtn Dew, and that first sip I took again was like the nectar of the gods.... some people apparently get over cravings.... but some never do, and I'm of the latter camp. I have found that these days there are lots of zero net carb replacements... such as bread and tortillas, which help. That Zevia was so nasty I spit it out. I can do Ollie, but not very low in carbs. I've found staggering coffee, water, zero sodas, and Lipton diet green teas is.... doable. Most of the time! But if I slip up, it's almost always for a REAL soda. Also harder, because I don't do veggies....

Start slow. Cut soft drinks with zero and diet drinks. Zero drinks are pretty good. The sugar drinks are not sugar. They are high fructose corn syrup. Much worse than sugar.
Find seasonings that are delicious and learn how to prep the meat. Remove the fascia layers on all chicken to allow the seasoning to get into the meat instead of sit on top of the fascia layer. It is this layer that makes the 'chewy" in chicken.
Lots of low carb alternatives on Amazon. Some really good jellies and jams. Several high protein pastas and rice alternatives.
Learn to season vegetables. Seasoning is what it is all about. I have some good ones. If you want to know let me know.
Meal prep is on Sundays and when needed. Turkey patties take 20 mins in the oven at 350. Same with tenders. Veggies take longer to cook so be ready for that.
It takes planning and desire. I don't do low carb but I do meal prep. I have a different frame of mind and motivation. I don't know who said this but the quote is: "Do it because your wife needs and deserves a healthy husband and your children need and deserve a healthy father."
It will happen if you lead them and be the example. It will suck for a bit but if you love her like you are showing us that you do, then I know you will do it. You have to set the pace. It's your job.
Best part is your family will be healthier and they will love you for it. When I did this, it was a wonderful side effect to see. Now I just have to maintain.
I can tell you want to do this. That is half the battle. Now get to it!!
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

In my 20’s & 30’s I was so addicted to that stuff. I drank a minimum of three, twelve-ounce cans every day. Back then I drank twice as much Mountain Dew as water. After a while I forced myself to quit them because I knew how bad they were for me. I didn’t touch one for probably 30 years. The wife and I were grocery shopping one day and they had some at the checkout and we decided to treat ourselves. A couple of swigs, and I was wondering how the heck I ever liked that sickly sweet monkey whiz. By that time, I had been low carb for a number of years. I don’t eat or drink anything with sugar in it and use Stevia as a substitute for a few things. The amount of sugar in that Mountain Dew must’ve shocked my system, it was horrible. LOL
Eh...wot?

LOL OMG, three a day? LOL. I drank at least 6-8 a day. Drifter still drinks around 15 a day. 3 a day is a dabbler, not an addict, lol. The rest of the day, minus 2 cups of sugar sweetened coffee, was full sugar energy drinks. Water? Isn't that the stuff you use to shower in?
