Glad everyone here is having a good day. This weather is so nice. We went to the lake today. Ran errands. Husband is going out tomorrow morning. Hopefully he'll be bringing something home for me to play with.
. Instead of dressing it in the field, he's bringing it home whole. So I can take my time and REALLY harvest it. . I'm thinking of skinning it like a taxidermist and making something cool from it. Maybe a deer suit like this yote cape. XD
How many of y'all eat the organ meat? I really like organ meat but my buddy discouraged me against eating the wild game. I'm wondering what y'all think? (White tail, I know bear liver is toxic)

I eat deer livers and heart. I like them both medium rare fried in butter and a little homemade concord wine. Cooked on the stovetop in a cast iron pan.

I think I'll check it out and use good judgement. As long as it's not full of worm's idk why he thought it'd be an issue. He mentioned something about Limes disease but.... *Shrugs shoulders*

I think because bear liver is high in something and it isn’t good in large quantities like you said. Not sure. You gotta ask google. Deer liver and such is fine.

It's toxic levels of vitamin A for the bear.

I believe that is way too high concentrates of Vit A....maybe D ? . I could be wrong, but I think that's what it is.

Polar bears are way high in that , in the liver, and a number of hunters have died consuming the liver with that concentrated amount that is toxic.

The dogs and I are leaving for a ten-day stay at camp the end of the week. I'll be hunting deer, bear, upland and small game. It makes me smile every time I think about it.

As a bonus, it looks like the electrical rough-in on a new building will be done by the time I leave, didn't think that was going to happen.

I et deer liver once and it was years before I could eat calf liver again.

I like deer heart , I save the livers for my cousin I am just not a liver fan in any form but Braunschwiger and I don't have the patients to make that when I can buy two tubes a year and have my fill of it.
