I was near Portal ND calling coyotes bout 10 years ago.
I belly crawled about 100 yards through a stubble field to a knoll. Big basin below the crest.
Got set up to call with my rifle on a short bipod and noticed a horrible stench?

Looked at my chest, legs and was covered in goo...se poop.
I looked around me and their was not a square foot of ground without a pile of goose crap.
I " think" it was a harvested pea field.
Had to change clothes back at the truck but did call in 3 and killed em all.

Sorry for the hijack OP.
Heard the town he mentioned and brought back a (crappy memory).

I have never seen so many Coyotes in my life as up there. Nonresident can not hunt them in Saskatchewan. We were hunting North of Plenty SK and after we got out of the field for the morning. We seen 27 Coyote in a creek bottom in less than 10 miles. I just wonder, did we see them all or only 50% of them.. we would also see upward of 20 Covey's of Partridge a day and Nonresident can't hunt them either. It's a sportsman paradise up there.

Drove past the Portal turnoff. Wanted to go check it out to say I was that close to the border.

That's what I love about ND. So many opportunities for mixed bags.
