Reminds me of French toast. I'd break out the dark maple syrup. Massive quick energy lol

the honey vs sugar thing

sure it is like 4% less on the carbs

yes it is less but not enough to make a difference to a type 2

when you want something like that , 2-3 bites really savor it then go for a walk or do some manual labor and you can avoid the spike.

I like Kringle it is a Danish pastry my dad brings them to hunting and I have to avoid them.
but I got the call I was headed down to the swamp to drag a deer out a 1/4 mile or better , had 2 pieces with some milk , then went and worked up a good soaked through sweat dragging that deer out up hill out of the swamp , checked my glucose when I got back and you would never know.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It’s not airy like you think of bread or see pictures online of cornbread. It actually has a consistency like modeling clay. lol

I’ll have to get a picture of it tomorrow.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

Had to look that up and yes, that is what it is. Now I have to educate the area about it. Gonna be hard to get them to stop calling it wet cornbread.

Call it what you like, just call me when it's ready!

In our family, fried mush was special occasion breakfast treat. Birthdays.......Christmas morning, etc. I used to cook for leadership of a boy scout troop on camp outs and made fried mush once. None of them had ever seen or tried it, most asked for 2nds. Very similar to fried polenta.......without any of the flavored stuff they sometimes put into polenta.

In that area, I'd still expect to see some scrapple on the plate to go with it. And a couple runny fried eggs wouldn't hurt either.

You would be correct, she didn’t ask for all those fixings, just the “candy”.

People order it from my Mom for special occasions because they claim nobody makes it better and she won’t give up the recipe. I do believe you have cracked the code for me. I have found recipes using the term you provided. I will make it and see. That said, if it turns out to be the same thing, I’m not going to break my mother’s heart by showing up Thanksgiving with a pan of it. I appreciate your insight on this mystery.

First two pans went to the chickens. The third was eatable according to the kids but just a bit off. The fourth has nailed it. I actually wrote it down the fourth try. lol

Can you smell it?
