Delaware Rob....
Just curious about the Gadwall on your list. On the Pacific and Rocky mountain flyway they have a big gamey taste.....even after they eat rice for a month. I've eaten lots of them but never one that was a good table duck.
Maybe where you are it is different.
Pete x2 I think they taste nasty!!
Not sure! They sure taste good here on the Delmarva Peninsula. Maybe it’s just a matter of taste and I like them, maybe they eat something different here.

Listing your top 3 favorite ducks (in order). It can be based off of taste, beauty, etc
1) Wood Duck drake 2) Greenwing Teal drake 3) Mallard drake
Honorable mentions: Bufflehead drake and Canvasback drake Oh, C'mon . . . Seriously?!?!?!? You left out pintails!!! Dang, how does a greenwing beat our a pintail, or a widgeon even? #disappointed I don't disagree drake pinnies are gorgeous. I do think they are overhyped slightly. I do also this fully plumed drake wigeon are beautiful birds. I just don't get very many of either of the two.
