well now did they work??? Only coons and possums so far. We got an inch of rain last night and somewhat cooler temps. Hopefully the coyotes moved better. There aren't a ton of them around, the thermal guys and houndsmen have been knocking them back pretty good the last couple years. It works better with a dogless style trap. Any particular reason?

When you are using your hammer to set the dirt around the jaws (watch Zagger's video) you can trip the trap off if you tap around the dog area. I have caught yotes using both style traps, but dogless is easier. Most dogless traps have lower sitting pans that won't interfere with the screen. I could see that. I tap more just on the four "corners" to pinch the trap in. But I am a novice at this also. Seems to bed the trap solid for me.

Well, we've had 2 inches of rain over the last few days, and I have resisted the urge to mess with the sets. I was greeted with this on today's check. Remakes were definitely easier with the wet soil. It stayed together better when cutting the hole and pinching the trap in tight. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/11/full-13020-235455-20241104_114535.jpg)

Very nice. Learning and catching. Confidence in a set is one of the biggest hurdles
