No BS are expensive. Ogorman’s is going out of business. Keg Creek (Marty Smith), doesnt have it in stock anymore.

Anyone know of a bulk source for the stiff steel screen to buy in bulk?

Ive dove down the online rabbit hole trying to figure out what exactly the screen is NO BS or OG had and cannot figure out what it is called or find it online for sale. No BS is not stainless screen, as it rust abit were the coating wears off or on the cut ends

I just cut it and use it. I’ve never had problems with it rusting

Check if you have a local glass shop. We have one They replace screen in windows

I've heard of people waxing their screens to prevent sand from sifting through. I'd think the wax should keep the screen from rusting as well.

I ordered a roll of galvanized steel screen online, I prefer it over the black.
You could probably find black screen online, save money too

the galvanized screen is not as stiff as the black coated screen from ogorman. the black screen from menards, home depot, lowes, etc is fiberglass screen. i have not found a place to get black coated steel screen. i have thought about asking some local lumberyards if they can get it but i haven't yet

amazon has stainless steel screen and stainless black steel screen but i've never tried it to see how stiff it is, maybe as stiff or stiffer. maybe if you search hard enough on amazon may find the black coated screen.

That will not work for me then, as i like the stiff stuff. Good thoughts on asking at the lumberyards. I have seen this stainless black screen you are talking about. If i can find a small roll for decent price, i may order it to see.

Try this site. If you have an old screen you could probably send them it and see if they have something close in Guage and mesh count

LOL I have a quart can of "screen door paint". Used to be screen door screens were painted black with advertisements like "Wonder bread" logos on them. That went away with air conditioning and aluminum screen doors.

No galvanized screen is not as stiff as black screen, that's why I prefer galvanized

I like the really stiff coated black screen from ogormans too. Stainless steel is a harder steel than mild steel and doesn’t bend as easily so screen made out of it might be really stiff like the black coated stuff. I don’t know other than getting some and trying it.

I appriciate the replies from everybody. To get to the bottom of it, dustytinner, your idea would probably be best. Also am curious on the black stainless screen and its stiffness, like bluegrassman was talking about. Worse case scenerio, can just send it back with refund from Amazon.

I do know 2 things… Ogormans and No BS are different. Not stiffness wise, but Ogormans screen holes are slightly smaller on the screen.
Either way i run all No BS currently, and they are not too financially feasable on a large scale operation. Even there cheapest route (20 dz), comes out at $0.67 per screen

You can compare the different ones. Mesh diameter and mesh size.
If you were close, i could order it for you. But any glass place around you probably can order from them.

Menard DOES sell steel black screen i have a full two rolls

I appriciate that link. Was just checking it out. I think i have it narrowed down to “ 14 Mesh Plain Steel.020" , 51%.
However, i need a micrometer to measure the NO BS screen i have. Anybody have one that can measure the diameter of a wire strand on the no bs screen?

I will take it to some local glass shop and lumberyard and see if i can get some feedback as well.

Is it the stiff steel stuff or is it aluminum? Thats the deal breaker. I dont want aluminum.

Must be a regional thing cause I checked all the Menards, home depot, and Lowe’s around and none of them have it. Checked several stores of each. All I could find was aluminum and fiberglass.

If they got it at Menards in Wisconsin then they should be able to special order it at any Menards.

RedFx, no Menards anywere in my neck of the woods. Dang it anyway.

Dean, i appriciate that link! I checked it out, and the only problem is, even ordering enough to cut 1,000+ covers, NO BS still comes out cheaper.
May reach out to Kurt at NO BS and see if they will knock that price down for me, if i order 100-120 doz at a time.
If not, I will find a cheaper source.

I talked to Marty Smith yesterday and he no longer carries it. Also, Ed doesnt list it on his website either, however I will reach out to him if you think he still carries it?
