I will start by saying I do not want the constitution of our great country messed with, probably the biggest swayer between candidates in elections for me.
Hope that covers the 2A part, moderators.

What rings clear, to me is that we have not had a candidate for POTUS that campaigned with preserving our Constitution as a forefront issue since I was of age to vote. Am I the only one who noticed?
Tired of the infighting amongst my fellow countrymen. Most of the issues on opinion are covered by the Document, which I interpret to mean we can talk but there are rights to fight following this up.

Free Speech does not merely mean shouting louder than the opposition.

you are not the only one who noticed

and I have voted constitution party

part of the reason I feel no one talks about the constitution or preserving the foundation of this country is that it puts a huge personal responsibility on the people as individuals and too many are looking for how they can be taken care of and not how they can take care of themselves.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

As was its intent.

I agree , but that isn't what a majority are looking for , they want to trade liberty for a little temporary safety just as they were warned not to do.

thus the reason for the warning in the first place. the founders knew human nature.

Do you think that Free Speech has changed with the insantnious nature of posting online? People reacting on Facebook, X, and other platforms under the guise of free speech?

You've clearly ever voted in the primaries. Always amused when people complain about the nominees but dudb6 our in the primaries for the candidates backing their views.

There is no free speech online except on X. To my knowledge it is the only one.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Social media can't change free speech. In fact 1A doesn't apply to it. Except alas long as the government keeps its nose out of it.

For those of you who think social media cannot change free speech. Take a look at this.

A couple days prior to the election, here's what came up when you typed in "where can I vote for Kamala Harris"

And here's what came up when you typed in "Where can I vote for Donald Trump."

I thought of voting for the constitutional party, until I saw a photo of the freak.

The 1st amendment doesn't apply to any private business or person. If google can't censor information because of the 1st amendment, then Paul Dobbins can't censor speech on trapperman. The 1st amendment applies to government censorship of speech.

You're probably thinking of Chase Oliver, the libertarian party candidate, who is openly flamboyantly gay. The constitution party candidate was Randall Terry, who is also, quite frankly, a freak. Interestingly, Vermin supreme (also a 3rd party candidate) once threw glitter on Randall Terry at a "lesser known cadidates" forum and declared that Jesus told him to turn Randall gay, in repsonse to Randall's anti-gay position.

Most Americans, including most politicians, have never read the Constitution.

Easiest test of whether someone has read the constitution or at least the 1A is ask about Separation of Church and State

I assume you meant that I never vote in the Primary’s? Not relevant for the topic of my post.

I hope this doesn’t get taken down for political. The 2A is very much a part of why I wanted this conversation.

I agree. It is a sad part of our current state as it is high on my priority list for choice amongst those on the ballots.

What does the separation of church and state have to do with picking a pastor for vice presidential running mate?

An opinion I agree with you on. Now for a fact, the majority of politicians are lawyers. lol
