You never know what you'll find in a deer stand in South Texas.

I went to check out an old tower blind only to find that it had been converted to a baby bobcat condo.

This little fella met me at the door.

His two siblings were in the opposite corner.

The next morning while sitting in a nearby popup blind I saw the three kittens venture out to do a little exploring.

Mom was quick to put them back in their playpen.

This is not something you see every day.

This Is Gumbo the Catahoula Leopard.

He is 65 pounds of Pure Testosterone.

When he goes on border patrol no coyote is safe from his nose.

He is directly responsible for the demise of coyotes in the hundreds.

How is that dog's hearing?

Our experience was most catahoulas that had a large amount of white on the head AND glass/blue eyes were mostly deaf

But out sample was only a few doz so it may have been isolated

Good looking dog too

Gumbos main job is coyote recon. He is only interested in marking OVER another coyote.

[Linked Image]

No need to hike when the target is at ground level.

This small mound has produced a lot of coyotes.

G-Dog made a bee-line to this spot from a distance then marked it.

This is another coyote milling area. It was immediately marked over.

Coyotes answered with a black rose right where Gumbo is standing that same night.

This pila is a favorite waterhole for Wile E. and company.

A mark here will let a lot of coyotes know there is a new dog in town.

His presence on the line is a huge attractant in and of itself.
