Not sure how the Tman crew missed this--but the Haitians are getting frisky.

It would never be a problem for me because I would never go to Haiti. But in case you are, see the attached article. Not sure if TSA will let you wear a plate carrier, but consider it.

What would you expedite to be greeted with in such a nation? The DR is right next door, and much more civilized.

The Dominican Republic was part of the Spanish Empire.

I went and read a little about the history of Haiti a while back.

Seems it's always been this way.

Woodrow Wilson was president when corporal Chesty Puller was sent to Haiti. 5 years later he was a 2nd Lieutenant and things were lots quieter. It never lasts. Rest of the world needs to agree to isolate therm. Nothing in nothing out.

My folks lived for two years within a few miles of the Haitian border in the DR Haitians came to the DR to cut sugarcane. A job that most Dominicans felt was beneath them. I feel bad for the common folk who are caught up in all the turmoil. Haiti is by far the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
