Great little stove.
I bought one this year for a line shack. It heats up to 900sf and it does a great job, all cast bought new for just over 300$. Shack is 300sf.

Yep, I was expecting something to be wrong. Needs a little cleaning and it’s ready to go

Yours looks to be in better shape than mine. I need to spruce mine up a bit with some stove black.

Thanks Crager. I love to have the heat exchanger like yours. Does yours have a layer of firebricks on the bottom?

No firebricks on the bottom.
I've been told to always keep a bed of ash on the bottom as to not overheat the bottom plate. Don't know if that is true or will work , but that is what I was told.

In barrel stoves we use to put a layer of sand on the bottom of barrel and skimmed off ash when cleaning it. It saved the bottom from burn through. On my little stove I built a metal tray for the bottom and is easy to clean just take out tray and dump.

I think there is something too it and anything on bottom would help to generate more years of service from the stove.
