I've seen this trap in supply catalogs.....seems to be a good trap for coyote and safe around dogs......although set up video I found on line....appears to be time consuming and hard to setup....anyone on this site have experience with it.......and have a review........says American military used it on ferral dogs in mideast.[align:center][/align]

I havent used it but in talking with some other ohio nuisance guys that have used em, you get so many possums and raccoons messing with them that its hardly worth the time using em.

If you know your target will be K9, I have no doubt they would be useful as long as you have some experience with bite and pull baits. I struggled with bear, coon, and skunks for the short time I tried them. Might try again this winter. The set up is easy enough with the directions and video , gets faster after 1 or 2 resets.
Good luck

Not any different then setting and blending a foothold with practice.

Coons are going to be the #1 PIA. Bite and pull becomes grab and pull and they don't get lassoed.

Check legality. Georgia does not differentiate snares from cable restraints. If it's cable it's a snare and we are a beaver only state.

If they are anything like the snare throwing traps that were marketed here for hogs they are complicated and frustrating

Sound exactly like what they sold here

I don't think my friend ever caught a hog with one either

Thanks....the brand name is " collarum ".....sold in a lot of places....I figure if a product comes with a video...its to hard for me to use....I'm not a trapper....just always dealing with racoon, skunk, possum, groundhog on my property......now coyote are building up fast.....so trying to thin them out a little. A guy setting up a collarum is on YouTube.

I was one of the first to use the collarum in the field for coyote work. That was some 20 plus years ago. I used them in Arkansas for several weeks. It takes a learning curve to master them but I caught a coyote the first night I set a few. Beginners luck I suppose. But I went on to catch quite a few. I did have several miss fires from coon and opossum. But that comes with any device when lured or baited. Once you can get used to the set up, you can get one set up pretty quickly.

In NC, they can only be used by WCA with depredation permit and you are required to collect and submit all kinds of data for every use. I have handled one but never bought or tried one.
