He is not much of a photographer but sent me this 17 kin after asking me if he should shoot a doe. U told him it's up to him shoot what he wants but are you wanting a buck? So he sent me this I guess they are hanging out right in front of him the last 17 mins. His response was waiting for a buck. Said there were 3 I have not looked hard and only see Two in the picture.

Does make good bait for bucks yep but I'm thinking that big one is likely breed already. very likely the same 3 that were under me along with a 14" or so buck a few weeks back. I'm surprised he is holding out and really hope it pays off so he will learn to be more selective. kid has shot 3 doe this year and way behind last year and let more walk. I was still expecting a muffled shot I still Would like at least 3 more in the freezer. Typically they don't shoot many off our farm and save meat hunting for public ground.. I don't care what they shot or don't but like watching the progression. And I'm blessed I have boys that want to get up early and out in the cold and go hunting and not more interested in playing video games .

just heard a muffled shot and the smack of bullet hitting a deer. BUT guess what it's a doe. He said she was limping and he thought she was injured. I see nothing in the Pic other than hole through the shoulder. maybe I will find something when skinning it. Pic he just sent. Makes #4 for the year 20 in his life. 7mm-08 strikes again. Now do I need to change the thread title since he didn't let her pass, or it it ok since he shot her because of a limp?

I'm from the school of shoot what you want and what you have tags for. Can't shoot a big buck if you're ok with a doe that's fine. When I hunt deer I shoot what legal for me to shoot. Never been into the competition hunting gotta be big rack. Tell him nice shot and congratulation!

Well the 2nd shot took an 8 pointer about 10am. After he shot the doe and sent me a picture I told him sit down and wait for a buck. He did and stood up to see over some brush and shot him off hand. It panic ran right at him and he had to step over to get out of the way and it dropped 10 feet past him. . That makes 21 for him and his largest buck to date. not sure what's wrong with pictures loading.
