PBS trapper Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 325 Ohio	I’ve got shock springs on all my canine traps. Not sure why anyone would be adamant about not using them. Don’t really know the disadvantages of having them. Having some give that a spring provides can’t hurt. 🤷‍♂️ OSTA MEMBERSHIP OSTA SHOP

canebrake trapper C Joined: Mar 2015 Posts: 591 GA	I have them on all of my traps. In my mind it makes it a little easier on the animal and your equipment. JCs have a 75 pound pull so that spring is taking 75 pounds of pressure off the trap.

The reason I don't use them unless I have to is trying to cover them up. I run a lot of traps and I don't like spending a lot of time on something I don't need to.
