My buddy and I put in our bobcat line a week ago and had a good start by our standards. Here a few pictures:













And then a surprise on our second check, good or bad depending on your perspective. Caught by one toe. We can keep them in Utah now. It makes it a bit easier than turning them loose. Buddy says he wants a rug.





Anyway, Good start to the season. Lot of fun.

Curious , do you have to buy a tag for a lion out there? Or does that automatically with your license?

Lions need to be tagged at a regional Fish and Game office within 48 hours of or shooting or catching them. There is no charge.

You do need a hunting license to harvest one. And a furbearer license if you catch one in a trap.

Anyone with a hunting or furbearer license can harvest cougars with no other permits or tags required. No closed season no limit. After harvest they have to be checked in to take a tooth for aging and to get a permanent cites tag.

How's the fur on those bobcats? We don't start trapping them til late Dec to get good prime ones.
Beautiful spots on them and nice size !!

Wish we could trap mt lions !! Going out to call some over Thanksgiving to see if we can lure one out before we start trapping. We have a good mt lion population where we trap.

Moyle did our last mt lion hide. Spouse fleshed the feet out with a wire grinder wheel and they turned out great. We requested intact fur dressing for the tan.
