Both looked Ok.Gonna turn big Tom in a few minutes I will post a pic.
I always pick up a few early cats.hard to keep them out of fox traps and snares.
If the bellies are nice they sell OK Not a huge difference in price between prime and a bit early as long as belly is good,If off coloured and early I tan them.

Cats are well furred, leather almost pure,a little grey down the grotzen from shoulder to rump.
Nicely spotted belly but hard to see the spots in pick from the way its combed out.
This one will grade I-II with a B belly.

[Linked Image]

Fox are nicely furred now also, but this one is on the pale side unfortunately, but good size.

[Linked Image]

Marten are fully prime, this big adult male will go 25 inch on the board.
Can feel the deep groove on the top of his head from the well developed temporal muscles.

Should be a good year, got 10 marten out of 12 boxes and two cats out of one cubby and one trail snare set up in a couple weeks.Plus a bunch of other fur.
Ratios on marten looking good at 9 to 1(adult female)

How are your fisher looking. Our season opens in a month. If they are prime now how much better will they look in a month. Just curious.

Fisher are prime now.Once they are prime they dont get any better, they stay prime until telogen kicks in.But as time goes on while they are in catagen the fur is subject to wear and tear on the animal and eventually gets faded and rubbed. The type of winter has an effect on how bad the physical wear on the prime pelt gets. For example wolves will get rubbed out a lot sooner during a winter with low snow conditions.

Always top_ notch advice on fur.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Wolf country

This is the area I will construct a new wolf jackpot this winter.
Lots of sign down there over the last several years.
Lots of moose down there also.

Gets later and later every year HFT.
Its pouring rain tonight-unheard of for this time of year.
Waiting for cold weather and some snow to get more sets and snares out.
Maybe by December.

Yeah I feel your pain. This has been a good year after cleaning the 2 yotes I caught thinking we might have a mild winter, no fat on them at all. Pretty surprising to me,
