So I bought a couple CR's an I was wondering how do you set them exactly. I can't find any good video's on YouTube that explains it properly. I think maybe the problem is I don't know how it even works, if you know what I mean. Please advise. TIA

Not a good video on it IMO. It'll catch a fox probably but you won't catch many coyotes if you set yourself on the ground in the trail and put all that extra blocking in. You need to dedicate a few rebar stakes to using them for your cable restraints. Pigtail and weld some black annealed #9 wire (NOT GALVANIZED) to the top them and use them to anchor and support your CR's. Put them in trails with the coyote tracks, but sneak in from the side, stay off the trail, put your cable restraint swivel on the stake and drive the stake in the ground 3-6 off the side of the trail, find a spot that is naturally tight with grasses and weeds, make your loop at least 10", 12" is better, and set it at least 10" off the ground to the bottom of the loop, again 12" is better using the support collar to hold the snare on the #9 wire. Get in and get out. Set as many as you can, then the next day set more, and so on. Once you have out 100 or two, you'll catch enough to make it real fun. It's a numbers game, more sets = more catches.

you're not gonna find it locally. Get 9 gauge wire from a trap supplier

Go to your local farm store and look for some fence wire.
The wire from all those political signs will work.

I disagree Wolfie. He's selling supports, and adding extra blocking is always a bad idea IMO. I almost never disturb or change the area in any way. Sneak in from the side, drop in your loop the right size and height and back out. I don't walk on the trails and I don't try to blend the snare in perfectly, they don't know but what its a weed they push themselves through all night long every night of their lives.

if you take some 3/8ths fiberglass rods and cut them about 18" long you will have the start of a CR stabilizing system.
Then take and drill 2 holes about 5" apart. Start with the first hole about 2" below the top of the stake. You can get away with lighter wire because you're not supporting the whole cable. When you cut your wire have enough, so you have about 12" of wire sticking out from the rod. Start out with about 20" of wire shove it through the top hole leaving about 12" sticking out now bend the wire down and bend It so It goes through the bottom hole. You will end up with a few inches stiking out so just bend It down. This will lock It In position.
This Is not a stake It's just stabilizing your CR.

The easiest and cheapest supports are made from #9 wire at a farm store, fold a tight loop on one end a few inches long, drive a stake in 4” or so then pull it out and shove the loop in.

Not in our dirt. They are way too loose and flop around. Maybe ok when its frozen but it'll never be as solid as welded to the stake (or as easy to find after a catch is made).

They sell half inch fiberglass rods will holes predrilled from fencing stores.

Maybe not on bare ground but work fine in sod even in the winds of the SD prairie. Not knocking your system but I guess I never snared in loose soil or sand.

Each state will have it's own laws, check your reg's.
A CR is basically a snare that relaxes, that same cable will do you fine within the reg's.
