There are spots around here where all you see are black squirrel s I have shot a few dozen from those areas at a time but it would take a couple of years to get a hundred or so though they do have a preaty fur IMHO even nicer then mink I saved all I got a few years ago for a friend who had them made into a hat for his wife

Southern ontario is polluted with black squirrells.
I think they are classed as a game animal-cannot sell the skins.

My trappin bud went to a course in Ottawa last year and saw them, didn’t know what the heck it was at first. There’s a season for them.

I'll try to ask a CO to get a correct answer for you, but I believe Boco is right...since they are classed as a game animal there is no legal means to sell meat or hide.

Unless somethings changed, it’s in the guide. Permit to possess and an export permit/royalties to leave Ontario.

WISCONSIN AND Michigan-where did Ontario come into play here?

We have them here. Seem to be in pockets. Some areas are all gray, some all black. I have caught some nuisance black squirrels. I tanned one just to have on the wall. I don't target them or know anyone who does though.
