The Vortex warranty is pretty hard to beat. it is , the Sunday before season 2023 we were out sighting in and my son did break the dot on his shotgun , chip in the glass he called Monday on his lunch break and asked if he could run up to the office in Barneveld about an hour 15 for us he got out of work at 3 and started driving , they had it waiting for him at the desk he handed them the broken one and they handed him a new one. the reality is they only actually fix the razor and above lines. he knew that from the tour they gave when we took our USPSA RO training at Vortex earlier that year.

The Vortex warranty is pretty hard to beat. It could be. I've never needed it. I have used Leupold's, which is great too.

The issue which I have had with Vortex scopes vs Leupold is that there is little forgiveness for eye relief in the Vortex scopes. You need to be dead nuts on eye placement for full view. Leupolds are much more forgiving in that respect. I was using I high end Vortex which did not hold zero when you changes power from 10 to 18. It hit 2 inches higher at the highest magnification. Do they all do that? I don't know. Yes...POI changes with zoom. What? Really? I say very unacceptable to vary that much when changing magnification. Any other peeps have this problem?

First time I opted for a lighted reticle and its the bees knees for what I using it for...fast aquisition on running coyotes. It replaced a Leupold that I never fell in love with. Since Nikon stopped making scopes Ive been a little lost....

Midway has the diamondback HP 4X16 on sale for $189.99. I decided to pick one up at that price so hopefully it doesn't suck! I have the Diamondback Tactical 4-12 on my 308 mvp it works well to 420yards can't say I have had that one any further yet but seems good.

2nd focal plane scopes are only correct on their highest zoom setting. It's the price you pay for having a reticle that stays the same size when changing zoom settings. You'll have to check your user's manual for the conversion at lower zoom settings.
