16 chickens, 13 hens and 3 roosters. $32 of feed/month X 6 is $192 before egg production. 2 months in egg production. $254 \ a dozen a day for 2 months (60) is $4.23/dozen. They only get cheaper from here. Unfortunately we are not selling eggs currently, a product of a large family and the holiday baking season. lol

Tariffs could put corn and bean prices at historically low levels. China moves slowly and methodically if I was a farmer I’d be concerned.

The "art of the deal" is a Chinese specialty. Not many best them.

The darling wife’s chickens eat beaver all winter and early spring.
They thrive on it.
Cheapens up the feed bill.

Just remember that Brazil took up the slack and exports are down 30% in the USA and they have not recovered any of this market in the USA.

Brazil is also raising a lot more corn as well. We wil still be the major corn exporter, but Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine and others are ratcheting up their corn acres rapidly. We have become much less influential in the soybean export market and that will just get more so. Best hope that we keep needing all that soy oil domestically. The meal is outstanding cattle and poultry feed but we will need to refine our livstock processing workforce to keep those processes functioning.
