Well folks, old Moosetrot's health took a turn. All Fall I was experiencing some balance issues, even had a hard time getting into (and staying in) a boat, etc. Opening Day my son killed an 8 pt. that wound up at the bottom of a very deep, steep creek gully. We eventually got out with a block and tackle. After that, my balance and walking issues were pretty extreme but I figured I was just an old fart who isn't 8ft. tall and bulletproof anymore and was exhausted. Seemed fairly good afterwards. Worked Monday and Tuesday just fine.
Wednesday at work my left leg weakness was worse, I was making lots of left-hand typos on my computer, and when I could feel coffee dripping out of the left corner of my mouth it was time to head to the ER. To make this long story short they said I had multiple strokes recently on the Rt. side of my brain, thus the L. side issues. They put me on a bunch of meds to reduce the chance of further strokes. I have a ton of appointments coming up. Setting up PT and OT tomorrow..
I have often spoken about my Wonderful Wife who certainly has health issues of her own. She has clicked into caregiver mode big time and i honestly don't know what I would be doing without her. I dug out one of my old canes and certainly need it for getting around the house. I can still drive but have seriously self-limited that, Doc has me off work for at least 2 weeks as he is concerned about me falling and flopping around my office like a fish. The State of Wisconsin DWD may have to learn to get along without me.
Given my balance and leg issues I don't dare get into my boat for duck hunting which ends today so it has sat in my drive all grassed-in, packed with decoys and ready to go. Deer hunting is done for the year and most likely any hope of beaver trapping as well. Wonderful Wife ordered me a new recliner with heat, massage, and who knows what else. So, old Moosetrot has hit a speed bump but is well, comfortable, happy, and well fed and cared for by his Wonderful Wife. I will be back at it all next year. Till then I will have to hunt, trap, and fish vicariously through Trapperman and my son, who, killed a really big adult doe yesterday 10 minutes before the close. I will be looking for and reading any and all stories my T-man friends are willing to share.
Take care, listen to what your body tells you, and great Fall seasons to all!

Going through stroke caused issues with the same symptoms. Sucks. God bless.
Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.
