Cost is almost at 2 Billion .Us tax payers are footing the bill for roughly a Billion of that .Thats without the dome .The old stadium was just fine .

They get lake effect snowfall from two lakes, Erie and Ontario, so any time that it blows from the west Northwest all the way over to east northeast they can get lake effect snow. We had a couple dairy students from near Watertown in our dairy program back in the 80s. Their discussion and stories regarding snowfall, depth and removal were eye opening.

I am at my camp in North Central Pennsylvania right now and one particular lake affect. Streamer has been hanging over us for the past 24 hours.

It’s just a dusting compared to what the guys up near Buffalo are getting but we’ve gotten 5 inches of new snow overnight. 10 miles north or south and the sun is probably shining.

Have my house about 2 hours from Buffalo. Glad we don't get their lake effect snow very often. Of course, I had to move to the mountains here in NM so we get feet of snow here. Luckily, I live on my work property and my new snowplow will be finished today so I can clear us out once the snows hit again. Already had over 18" of snow this season.

The last time I was there, it was clear out when I stopped to get fuel, by the time I pulled out to get on the interstate you could hardly see where it was. lol

That was a sketchy drive until I got to the mountains.

Hauling fuel coke from Tonawanda (Buffalo suburb) to Reedsburg Wi, you run I90 to Chicago. When its snowing it can take awhile. If you don't have to just park. Good thing is the natives know how to drive in it and the road crews know what to do. Often loaded in Erie taking fuel to the Reedsburg foundry. Some shorter but snow is the same. Buffalo really is a sketchy city. You need to stay alert while there.

Back before the switch to digital TV I got the news stations from Buffalo at my camp. I spent a decade watching the steady decline of that crap hole city reported on the news. Those that could move out did, those that stayed had their taxes increased. But mostly it was just people on welfare, sucking up government money and services and then complaining about the lack of services when they decreased.

I remember when they fired all the janitors for the school system and teachers were required to start cleaning their own rooms. There was a big stink about that.

One story was that they shut down the DOT centers They had one large woman complaining loudly that she now had to take a bus to the other side of the city to get her drivers license. LOL

We can probably add any of the generic criticisms of Buffalo to ANY big city can't we? Or is there a major city out there that is wonderful? I don't think downtown Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston and so on are any better. I've been to downtown Buffalo many times for various sporting events and viewing the harbor area which is beautiful. While I wouldn't choose to live there. I wouldn't live in any other big city either. You all see the snow because of football games on national tv but Buffalo regularly falls behind Rochester and Syracuse in total snowfall
