Pretty simple really. Fall beaver are flat, with little underfur and don't yield as much felt. Fall beaver will be very low valued, for perhaps several years. Even though Idaho has a nice beaver, if they are taken early they are still flat, and the market has yet to be established. Hang onto your beaver until spring when the market will likely firm up.

Those prices are for bobcat SKULLS. Pelt prices were much higher.

Skulls and bugs make a perfect combination. Improves the price - not lower it.

Well, it does say skulls. It is the heading, though not prominent. Also otter, mink, raccoon and other species.

The report format could have been a bit better organized.

Sometimes the Idaho sales average is higher due to the craft buyers. Good for trappers but not truly reflective of the current market sometimes. As expected beaver is down. There is a marten market which is why about half no sales due to prices offered.
