I’ve got thousands of furbearer photos and a few hundred deer pics most of them taken while the cameras were set up during trapping season. When I first hunted deer in SD it was not the same style of hunting I was accustomed to. In the Midwest we would find a spot and sit and wait mostly that was the traditional way.
When I got out west it was a lot of trucks driving around and guys bailing out when a deer was spotted coming out of a shelter belt or kicked up in a draw. The difference was MI was all trees and in the west it was flat and open. Id still go out in the river breaks or set up on a haystack for a better view just the way I learned.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

No camera's here, i want it to be like christmas day in that you never know what's under the tree! Yup.. Just like when my wife gave birth to our babies.. I did not want to know what it was.. I like surprises.

I have zero cameras
have been hunting the same area for 33 years I don't get monster bucks or wait around for "the one"
decent size , safe shot = shoot
my great uncle taught me to hunt , he hunted the same area all his life we hunted together 27 years till he passed
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

That’s awesome Pete! Hope you have many safe shots in the future.

For what it's worth I have over 50 cameras, does that count for anything?

Can say I've ever hunted with a camera.
What caliber do they come in?
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I just got into cell cams last year, it's so fun to see what's happening even while I'm at work. I have 13 this year in 4 counties. All have good deer on them, all have fur bearers on them. Does it help me decide where to hunt? Not a bit I hunt in two counties nearest me during the week after work or after football, and mostly not even on the properties I have cams on. One property I only hunt one weekend a year but the population is way down from a bad winter kill two years ago and I'm wanting to see if I can fill a doe tag on a solo doe. Dosent look like that would be a good choice but The Boy can, as I'm only two dry does on cams regularly. One new property has enough cams to let me know there is a good huntable population of does so it should be ok kill a couple. And the properties nearest home should produce a few does for grandpa, myself, and The Boy. As far as bucks go I'll shoot the first one that comes within 20 yards as long as I am in the right mood to drag it out. Rifle season, it only needs to get within about 150yards. I have a very controversial idea on bucks well deer in general I've come up with using cameras, but I'll save that for another thread lol
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

I go out and scout and that is better than using cameras. Can see where they come from and where they and get a whole different respective of the animal you are hunting.
We can't use them for hunting anyway here.

We enjoy using cameras and take 100,000 photos and video clips each year. We began using trail cameras that used 35mm film. That got expensive. Having cameras out has been a deterrent to trespassers too.

During rifle season i dont use cams. During bow season i only use one half the time, and its not a cell cam.
