Looks like a few truck payments there guys...nice pics. We need a 10 dollar coon average and a 4 dollar muskrat average again to get things moving again. I would hope we could do better than that, but it is a start.

….you’re the man Uncle Swamp … probably saved some good ol boys a little money by running traps instead of writing tickets… a win win situation lol Lol... I'd check traps well b4 day....come home...swap clothes....put on the gray shirt/green britches, and gun belt and be standing at the duck baiter's vehicles when they fired the first shots at that group of baited woodies. Then, that night, I'd be sitting hidden on the edge of a clearcut or dug peanut field watching for Bubba and 'dem to work a Q-beam until about 2 or 3 AM....

Agreed Patrick. I’ll never not trap, but the financial incentive has to be there to pile them up. Nuisance trapping is good money, but it just ain’t the same…. Afraid we’ll ever see a good coon market again. I'm heading to look at the winter's first beaver job tommorrow with others to follow next week for timber company. There isn't much "fire" in me to do it, but I know it'll feel good once I'm out there standing knee deep making a set.

lol… everbody knows you don’t bait woodies… you roost em with lead # 4’s Bubba and dem bait em and roost shoot em over this way. Amazing how many ducks a little corn and molasses will draw in after a few days and the local ducks are followed back by many others to that sweetness on their feathers.

… even the the market was good my coyote was worthless… figure the same for uncle Swamp .. other than live market if legal I guess Same here. But, I grew tired of dealing with those old houndsmen that operated the training enclosures. Took the "fun" outta trapping for me to have to feed, water, medicate, transport coyotes weekly. Haven't sold a live coyote or fox in a decade...with no plans to ever do it again. But, I did sell hundreds of each since I was 18 years old. Made a few $$ live marketing. It carried me thru the lean fur market years and would do so now if I had the drive and patience to do it again.

My son’s trapping coyote for the live market. Before work and weekend line. First year he’s done the live market thing. He’s caught dern near 40 the last 20 days or so.
Our coyotes are miserable poor quality as a whole as well Savell. Coon are the bread and butter in this farm country. Lots of other stuff to trap, but you’ll make the most money trapping coon if there’s a market.
