I got a set of rechargeable hand warmers. You use USB ports like cell phone cord. They work very well for me. My hands are getting worse for the cold as I age.
Anyone else have something similar or have issues with freezing hands?

I basically have used the same type for 3 seasons. This year I noticed when charging, of the 3 lights on mine, only 2 would light up when charged. It didn't seem to make any difference as far as heat and duration went. The only other complaint I have is how slippery then can be under certain conditions. Otherwise for the price they sure beat the dry chemical ones.

Yep, they do. If they had a string loop on them would be nice so I can attach a string for easier use and handling.

I started using one this year, but not for directly warming my hands. If I start to get cold in the stand I turn it on and put it in my shirt pocket. There, under all my heavy insulating layers, the heat it puts out stays inside and helps me stay warm. You can't do that with the liquid fuel type, plus the electric warmers don't put out any scent. I would typically run it for a couple of hours during a morning hunt and it would be fully charged again after a few hours and ready for the evening hunt if needed. If you keep your core warm it helps keep the blood flow to your hands to keep them warm too.

The fingertips on my shooting hand have become very sensitive to the cold all of the sudden. To the point they hurt. Makes it a problem pheasant hunting. Otherwise, when other parts are cold, im only annoyed, not in pain.

Those are nice on those cold mornings in the deer stand. Wife bought me a pair a couple Christmas's ago.

I just use the "Hot Hands" throw away ones.They work well for me and are good for about 8 hours.

Was never able to SIT long in the cold without suffering cold feet hands even using the thickest hand/footwear, heated socks or chem warmers on them. Always felt a cold back of neck without enough coverage to make my head movement nearly immobile(not preferable in stands with 360 possible deer approach(even in swivel chair). Made a neck cowling with a pouch for chem warmers and now whole body is warm INCLUDING extremities. No one I know yet that has tried this also didn’t say it kept them warmer. 40% of your body heat exist the head a the back of the neck is a major area that regulates the distribution of the bodies heat(where to send it) with the core and the priority. I also put pouches for heat pacs on the backs of a pair of light bow hunters gloves with cold weather grip w/shtg finger tip removed for the times a deer crosses a lane and takes its sweet time not visible between them. Many times with hands out of lap muff in subzero gun ready on stand rail to not miss shot op for many minutes.

Considering going to rechargeable heat if they turn out to be not be the unreliable tech that gets produced these days. My grandfathers Johnny handwarmer still works great in my muff. And the rechargeables are getting smaller.

FYI - If you put the powder pac heaters into a ziplock bag(press out as much air as you can) after a partial use of their heat life they will stop working and will start again when exposed to O2. You can thank get a morn and evening hunt out of the same pacs.

I had one handwarmer that would get warm when you squeezed it to activate. Then once it ran out you would soak it in boiling water to recharge it. I've since lost it but could never find another one like it.

You, know I'm pretty impressed with these. I just carry them in my pocket or pack and use if needed. Like some have said, ideal for sitting in blinds and tree stands. If you need your hands just take glove off and shoot etc. Work excellent in mitts so you can keep the heat right at the fingertips and still be able to work most things being outside.

Wife just purchased me a pair this weekend. Have not used them yet.

I have had a pair of the small red Thermcell rechargeable hand warmers. My son got them for me when they first became available. They work ok but it would be nice if they were a bit larger.

I hope they work out for you. Any heat for me on my fingers is a huge help. Try inside of mitts really work good for me.

google zippo 12 hour refillable hand warmer. they work great. get hot. carry a little can of lighter fluid if your camping. dont need batteries or electricity. can of lighter fluid will fill one a bunch of times.

Got three of them used them a lot goose and duck hunting work well but not as handy as these. They last from 8.5 hours to 20 hours depending in low to high setting. I have never had mine any higher than set on low.

I won't be in a stand for 8.5 hour let along 20 hours, so these are trouble free. I'm not saying the other are bad I got them, but these are bettah IMO only.

For $17 they can’t be beat. Going on season 2 with them. When calling at night I control the call with my left hand and can’t do it with a glove on. I put it under my sleeves on top of my wrist. I’m not saying it keeps your hand at room temp, but it does keep them from going numb and unusable. The great thing is they get hot quick!

They had them on sale at Menards for 6.99 per. Samething, plug like a cell phone. They have 3 settings, when on high it says 125 degrees. When on high its just about to hot.

I ordered them for my wife for Christmas a couple weeks ago,glad to hear they work well.

Not sure where they got them they were given to me but yes on high too hot for me.
