… sounds like it’s a good thing I don’t have frozen ground… from the replies it seems like curved blades are a no go ,… never noticed an issue down here If you wanna have the experience of it, get in an ice bath then chop a trap bed out of a concrete sidewalk. lol

I prefer my blades on my digging hammers to be straight and not with any angle. When you try to dig with a curved blade particularly into frozen ground, they tend to glance off and can cause some injuries to shins when standing and putting lots of force behind the hammer. Kneeling they can chip ice and frozen ground into your face. Just my experience over 55 + years. I like a straight digging blade, too. The angled blade throws the dirt clods back towards me.

A barbwire wrapped hammer would probably work good for Mescin whackin'.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

But did you dig the iron ore from the earth by hand, forge it and hammer it into shape on your scrotum? Or are you a sissy?
