Thanks for all the input. As of today, I'm pain free and good to go. The Indomethacin is magic.

It works great for gout attacks, but go get the allopurinol and you won't have the attacks to begin with. It'll also make your other joints feel better.

Drink lots of water every day. It helps flush the uric acid out of your system.
Spouse had it for years then his doctor told him to start drinking water all day and peeing all day. No gout flares since.
He did the tart cherry juice for a while but water is what helped most.
Hasn't had a flare in many years.

We have a good friend that takes the meds talked about above for his. He was having bad flare ups but the meds have really helped that.

Gout is caused by a high carb diet. It’s inflammation. Eliminate sugar and it will go away. Don’t eliminate sugar and the doctor will prescribe you an anti inflammatory drug.

Gout has different triggers for dang near everyone. I’ve got Endomethazone and take a pill or two every few months. If I feel like I lightly stubbed my toe in the middle of the night, I get up and pop a pill. The steroid pills I save for bad attacks, they’re powerful, effective but destroy any sleep. I just lay in bed with my eyes wide open…lol.
When I quit the booze, the attacks dropped to every few months instead of at least every month.
