I’m heating sugar to hard candy boil but it still just gets gummy any ideas ?????

No idea, but just pouring molasses over the corn works and they like it. If you can find a feed store that has it bulk you just fill your own container cheap....

I wouldn't try to reinvent the wheel- grain with molasses has worked for a few centuries now.

Stop at the feed store and get some sweet feed. Problem you will have if those type get ANY moisture they mold. With sugar prices today you sure are adding a lot of cost to a bag of corn that the deer will eat anyway.

Only ever used molasses to get them started, then just plain corn, once they start they're hooked....Sweet feed is good but the pellets turn to mush with high humidity or rain, then it gets moldy
