Way to go Jake. Taking some wolves each year will keep your line healthy The trappers here who maintain substantilal beaver quotas are all good Wolf Snarers.

Haha, we were like 2 little kids jumping around! Both belly’s were pretty empty. Temp that morning was 28F but a few days before it was in the -40s with the wind which helped cool the big boy down as he was caught a few days ago, young girl was pretty fresh. Stayed up til midnight and got the skins off and will finish one tonight. The bigger one got bloody while skinning and I’m not supposed to wash them in the tub anymore. Once it’s fur out, I’ll spray it with soapy water and rub some borax in, then brush it out a few days later. Anyone know of any other tricks for dealing with blood in the fur?

Nice, people don't realize it takes a full belly etc. to get most wolves in this area to weigh 90 plus pounds.Lots of people think there are many many 100 plus pound wolves running around. Our average wolf here along the border are females adults 68 to 72 pounds adult males about 80 to 85 pounds. They look like they should weigh more, but when you look at them they have long legs.Keep after them, harvest as many as you can so they don't come across the border,we have plenty....just like you guys up north, guessing you are 50 miles northwest of my place,Roosevelt... I hear ya. John Heart said the same thing, a 90lb wolf is a monster! Youre way off! Using the measure tool, they were snared 51 miles north west of your town….lol
