Another alternative is getting an implant device. No Cpap is required. I am considering it. I tried to go that option because I could not get used to a CPAP. went to the Dr. and in 30 seconds I was told that I did not qualify because my BMI was to high. It had to be below 32, Heck if my BMI was 32 I wouldn't need the CPAP. The Dr visit cost $290 dollars cash out of my pocket, because my insurance did not cover Consultations. I think it was just a racket. Now they say a BMI of 40 is acceptable.

Nessie - 95 times an hour??? I find that a bit hard to believe. Maybe 95 times a night ( 8 hours).
There are 60 minutes in an hour. 95 times an hour means you are waking up like every 45 seconds. If you are waking up every 45 seconds, you aren’t sleeping at all, are you.
Just my opinion, but then you don’t want to know what I think about sleep doctors and sleep studies…………….. That is less often than I was waking up Nancy. You don't realize you are awake but you never get into REM sleep and you stop breathing for 10-30 seconds at a time. Sleep apnea kills people and I am very sure I'd be dead by now without my machine. I asked my wife it's been like 30 years since I got it.

Waking up, hours later than you remember last being awake is great. Keith

Ness, I believe you. I was at 72 episodes a minute. Virtually no sleep at all and working 14-16 hour days. Did this for years until my brother convinced me to get tested through the VA. Now I'm 100% covered the rest of my life. It has made a world difference. But I do need to have my air pressure increased and a new machine. Doc said I wasn't too far away from deep rem sleep if I had continued as in the form of death. Folks, don't be stubborn and get tested. You will be greatful you did.

At times I couldn’t find distilled water so I purchased a distiller on Amazon and have distilled water all the time!
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

Hey Mossie glad your back! I cannot add more than what others said. It changed my life. You will get used to it. I even took a portable unit and battery, with a solar charger to Northern Manitoba on a moose hunt this fall. I fell asleep in the middle of a conversation with my wife one time. She said I needed to see someone. LOL I already knew I needed help! The portable units with a battery and a small solar charger allow you to get into the backwoods without toting a generator! mine fits in a surplus ammo can, and goes right into the pack pannier, let's me stay mobile! Wy.wolfer, have you made this work on a backpack hunt? I like to get into the backcountry once a year

My advice is sleep with one eye open. My young adult boys thought it would be funny to wait until I was asleep then unhook the hose and fart into it.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Distilled water is all you want to fill the tank with
I just use water from my RO unit. Cheaper & easier than buying distilled.

I've had one for 25 years, on my 5th machine, keep the mask and tubing clean, every other day for mask, weekly for tubing, if you don't you will get sick, only distill water, change filters monthly, I have the nose cup , just goes over the nose, never had a problem wearing it ,
