If you put a rifled barrel on a shotgun doesn't that mean its now a rifle???????????????

well it isn't as special scope at all it is barska junk but the difference in shotgun and rifle scopes is now basically non existent it used to be paralax shotgun scopes like rimfire scopes would have the paralax set to 50 yards not 100
when you started getting sabot slugs that are capable to 150 yards and beyond in some cases they really became rifle cartridges stuffed in a plastic hull with low pressure limits.

my son is running the 1-8 strike eagle he took off his AR and put on his 870 thinks it is possibly the best shotgun scope he has tried , 1-8 power illuminated retical . he had his deer in the first moments of legal season this year and there was no snow on the ground to brighten it up.

yes a rifled slug barrel or even rifled slugs to some extent makes a shotgun a rifle for the purpose of placing a single projectile on target with a better degree of accuracy.

with fewer and fewer states requiring shotguns for deer , even the ILL state is letting single shot rifles in specific calibers happen now , shotgun scopes and mounting options are going to continue to dry up , then it will just be a few guns made and they will be mostly sharing components with rifles for mounting optics.

That extension is what I’m looking for. But I WILL evaluate the scopes relief distance as adviced(experienced a minor eye/scope contact in my youth and don’t wish a repeat). Never scoped a shotgun before and as I only occasionally use one for special Park hunts I don’t wish to invest a lot into it. Scope may not be adequate(it was a gift). Thanx all Happy Holidays.
