Happy New Year James

Looks like a fine lunch to me, bet it was delicious

Our deer season ends this weekend and I am shifting into pig trapping gear.
If I catch some small ones I am going to follow your lead

I’ve been trying to get photos of this buck for quite a while. He suffered a substantial fighting injury late last season.
His right ear drooping is a direct result of the injury. He is down antler-wise from the last two seasons.
Hopefully he will make a rebound next year as a seven year old.

Here is a good buck that was recently taken.

He has one heck of a frame.

Anybody care to make a guess on what he scored ?

I’m a little lost in this one for some reason, but I’ll guess 176”

Even with good photos it is hard to judge some deer..

He had 27 & 28 inch main beams, and a inside spread just over 25.

When the tines have a curve to them they are usually longer than they appear..

Two tines were over 12 inches, and one was over 11..

The old buck scored 193 and change..

Yep he fooled me,when I got home from the hockey game I took more time and looked at the second picture and saw more than I did the first quick look.I still would have been off,my guess would have been 188",but it's always fun to guess normally I can guess with 5" or less.I know my friends always ask me to score picture's of deer and can't get over how close most of my guesses are.

Tony, you and Rick have a good eye for judging.

I thought that buck might throw folks off a bit.

In the future I will pick the contestants a little more carefully in an attempt to try and keep you guys on your toes.

Bring the "Whack or Walk Wednesday" wink

I always enjoyed those threads
Still not great at judging age but better because of those threads smile

(From another forum James used to spend a lot of time on for those wondering what I am talking about)
