Advice please.

Charles, I had a couple of mountain rifles by Remington over the years. All would shoot around MOA or better after bedding and free floating the barrel. If you do still rebarrel, the 280 or 280 AI are both great choices.

The draw for me was the inherent accuracy, low recoil and cheaper to reload. I have been around 5 of them now (2 AR’s, and 3 bolt guns all by different manufacturers) and all are sub MOA with factory ammo.

These 2 were in the neighbors sheep yesterday right before dark. One at 150 and the other at 200 yards so not much of a stretch. Definite whack as the bullet hits always makes me smile. Both folded immediately. There was a third one that I stuck around for that would never come back out enough to get a clean shot. This was shot with the factory 108’s and minimal damage.
