At 2,080 hours at $25 per hour the salary is $52,000 @ $30 per hour at $2,080 the salary will be $62,400. He does not have to work any extra time as he is already $2,900 ahead. If we works even minimal overtime he will make much more. Plus he will increase his retirement SS stipend and his IRA etc. as well so the benefits of the increased pay is significant for him short and long term.

there is no guarantee that they will get the hours and shift work they request.

that aside at $5/hr more it'll take about 9 months to break even assuming they work 40 hrs/wk.

There's no problem getting Xtra nights weekends and holiday hours. Plus the Medicaid ER patients can be quite entertaining
My wife was working one night and a Medicaid came in with a broken fingernail.
