Interesting to see possible Wolf interaction affecting your beaver trapping. I never had to deal with them before on a trapline. Nice catches. Tell the big guy at least he didn't have to strap on snowshoes.

This ditch had more ice than I expected so going was slow and a strong wind didn’t help much. Canoes in ice has never been the most peaceful feeling I’ve had but ended up with 30 rats. The 2 beaver came from another spot where I need to keep the farmer happy to continue goose hunting there lol. The one 330 stand had double stacked traps and the bottom one got it. I do this when I have extra traps cause I have seen them swim right over a 330 when coming out of their lodge before lol.

Why don’t you board them in a round circle?

I got my cat last night. Before season I had found 9 different cats. I have been trying to set up a new one every day after work for the last week. Big dirt hole, gold Christmas tree tinsel from Menards and a castor based cat lure I mixed up myself.

Nice cat Jordan. There's a lot more cats around than people think. I think they could issue us a tag every year. The cat I caught last year was similar to yours and it brought $170 at the FHA Auction.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

That's actually the second cat in that trap in 3 days. There sure is no shortage of cats around here.

That is a nice looking bobcat. We've been seeing more of these down here every year, even along side the road hunting in daylight.

Grandson just turned 8 and back out with the colony traps. His second year. I think he's got these figured out.

Beginning with his 5th birthday, he's received a hooped fur. For his 8th birthday we're working together on hooping a small beaver.

I remember trapping in boots like the boy has on, a lot of times went too deep with those boots.
