Thanks Hammer! It kinda bothered me when I started using the big DLS for beaver. When bedding, I have to bent the arms opposite the loose jaw so the jaw sit more level.

Sweet work Hammer!
A tip for the double longsprings...don't wax those suckers as the springs will slip every which way.
AND if you do wax... I have used a handful of dowel rods pushed in the mud around the springs to keep them in the position I want.

Did a little bit of modifying this morning, although not to the extent/quality of hammers. Bought about half dozen victor 1.75s from a fella at the pa convention as projects just to tinker with, didn't realize the gentleman had done a not-so-great job at modifying them. These started life as victor #2 sq jaws, he replaced the jaws with 1.75 offset jaws, but left the original levers, then put #3 springs on them, and kept the chain attached at the corner. Several of the frames were way bent due to the oversize springs, so everything got disassembled to be straightened, the base plated, jaws laminated, then bubble tipped when reinstalled. Everything got put back together with the correct 1.75 levers and #2 music wire springs, then added paws-i-trip pans to them all, and added my own chain setup. I've always been a fan of the 1.75/2 victor round jaws, so nice to add some more to the arsenal
