Line update: yesterday I set 5 more marten boxes, 3 lynx cubbies, and 2 sets for wolves.
Hope to see some return on my investment! Good luck

Any other trappers in Alaska have any success? (Trappers from other states are welcome to) I went to climb a mountain yesterday and cut trail. Stuck on frozen dirtsickle first hill. Comealong catch froze up, so had to keep beating it closed every crank with wire snips. First tree I want to cut, chainsaw won't run. Carb won't supply fuel. Must be froze up. So much for cutting. Since I took the VK to make that first hill, I almost broke a leg about three times stopping it from tipping on all the humps. I ran through and over hundreds of devils club. Not a bad day. I still have a windshield and didn't get any new devils club thorns festering in me today.

I did a deer hunt in Hoonah and there was a lot of devils club that I had to weave thru

Devils club is easier to avoid than stinging nettles. I seem to find the nettles anytime I do not have gloves on.
It’s been a slow season here, for me.

Good to see some fellow Alaskan trappers here!
What’s it like on Kodiak Island? I’ve never been there. If you are into fat, greasy foxes... Kodiak is the place to go! Pete
