I’ve been trying to get photos of this buck for quite a while. He suffered a substantial fighting injury late last season. His right ear drooping is a direct result of the injury. He is down antler-wise from the last two seasons. Hopefully he will make a rebound next year as a seven year old.

Bring the "Whack or Walk Wednesday" I always enjoyed those threads Still not great at judging age but better because of those threads (From another forum James used to spend a lot of time on for those wondering what I am talking about)

I have had very few first night catches
But I think it has a lot to do with scent control, blending and lure and/or bait choices. I think your scent keeps them away until it dissipates, blending hides the trap when they are already amped up and the strangeness of the scent used
Of course having the location and a participant goes without saying
