Victor are the most common to find used, and there is nothing wrong with them. I prefer Blake and Lamb over most of the others myself. Newhouse are of course top of the line, but they are not a budget priced trap, and due to their design they are hard to set by hand.

Well, figured I may as well contribute to this thread! Picked up 3 old #4 victor dbls last summer at our state rendezvous, nodded them a bit, and managed to fill my pa cat tag with one this past season! Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed using them for something different and the novelty of it! Picked up a few #3 jumps to try on predators this season!

That steel loop slides up the spring toward the jaws. Push down the lever and the spring compresses and locks that way. The loop is too small to work with #5 Bridger or #5 duke longsprings.

Sleepy Creek 4 1/2. Last year before we lost our early wolf season. Unfortunately this trap was stolen out of the remake the following check. [Linked Image]

Cool thread! Here’s a couple Georgia cats in sleepy creek #3 dls. Don’t set them much, but when I do I’ve got cats on my brain

Anyone using the bridger #4? If so what modifications or how do you like to set them up?

I have some I use for under ice beaver platforms, they're factory other than adding 6-8' of cable to the end of the swivel to anchor with

Fantastic pic! I miss the Flint Hills. It’s my top spot to move when I retire. Hopefully that’s within the next ten years

I’ve pretty much hung up the sleepy creeks, don’t wanna chance losing them. Still use victors and #5 duke and Bridger though

I had not used my longsprings for several years. I decided to dust them off and set a few this year. I caught a badger and two cats in them (no photo of the trap on the second cat). They work well in exposed walkthrus (Thanks for the reminder Boone Laine).
