the bucks started dropping their antlers? They started showing up on my cameras this week sporting bald heads or one antler.

Not much snow here might be worth a walk to look for a few sheds. Trying my hand at knife making and could use a couple.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Most of ours are dropping late Feb to mid March

I find very few but occasionally I get lucky and find one

Everything down here chews them or drags them off

I stumbled across a lost archery buck once. Thought dang I should do something with those... seemed sketchy so I didn't... I was running beaver traps I guess if it was next to that creek but anyway the entire rack was gone down to nubs in just a few days. I figured squirrels.

Coyotes and fox, rabbits, porcupines, squirrels and rodents are hard on them depending on where they drop.Later in the spring time it will be bear.

Usually they start dropping around now, here, but I've seen full racks still in the middle of March....

My 14 year old walks the farm every few days looking for them typically finds a few
. He has not started yet but has been talking about people finding them on videos on line. I asked him where in the country the videos were at he had a look that told me he had not thought about that and said he didn't know. And I was guessing probably further up north they drop earlier? I figured it's a touch early for here yet. Saw a nice one sporting his full rack yesterday.

maybe someone can answer the question , as I do not know but like so many things fur and creature , temp may not have as much to do with it as hours of day light

we are approaching a month past the darkest day of the year.

interesting question any way

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Lots of antlers still being sported around in my area. I don't remember seeing so many bucks around. It only shows the lack of hunting pressure in these parts. We just don't have the hunters of years past. Our bucks won't start to seriously shed until late Feb to mid March. At least that has been the trend.

Not dropping here. In fact got just a little bit of a rut going on. Had a doe come thru one night this week and 4 bucks right after her. Hadn’t had a buck all week. Last night there was a buck chasing a doe under neighbors security light.

Good but maybe I was not seeing things after all a few mornings back. I spooked a doe out of the woods and out into my grown up back field and it looked like a small buck in the woods watching her and likely following her. I just wrote it off.

Saw buck chasing a doe last week here. High doe to buck ratio means they keep em longer. DoW here said muzzleloader season had a few shed bucks killed so some areas are seeing sheds now.
