Afternoon trappers! Hope yall are staying warm.

Been tinkering with new baits, trying to get fermented egg paste figured out, they’ve been cooking for about 9 days. Decided to try a couple different ways, started with a dozen fresh eggs and some fresh disinfected jars. Cracked 6 with no shell in a jar, the next jar cracked and crunched up the shells with the remaining 6 & scrambled both. Put a coffee filter between the lid & glass rim to keep ventilation going. Stuck it in the garage at a constant 65-70°. No stirring these, just swirling it in the jar whenever I feel like it needs to move.

What I noticed is the egg shell jar started changing faster than the no shell jar. Completely changed pasty white color within 3 1-2 days, no shell jar was starting to turn colors but still very yellow, took at-least another day for it to turn the same color. They’re now a thick liquid, almost like a thin pudding. Have some small bubbles form in them. (More in the shell jar.) Haven’t had much expansion yet, just a little bit. Shell jar is starting to have a funky smell, not horrible, but not great!😆 haven’t noticed a very strong smell coming from the other yet. Smells good really.

Posting some pictures, start, changing & then today. Yall be safe!
Caleb

Will do! Next time I do them I’ll take 2 dozen eggs, everything the same but one set gets stirred

I was telling my girlfriend how one stinks and the other doesn’t. Atleast no smell outside the jar is how I was judging it. To prove it to her I took the cap off and put my nose down in it, got a nose full of funky that made my whole body jump. She about died of laughing grin laugh
