Don't doubt that at all AK Timber Tramp, Kentucky has a law that only white oak wood can be used to make staves for whiskey barrels...Some local guys machined a muffler that was a baffled device similar to a rifle suppressor that bled the exhaust gases over the length of the can, quietening the saw down.

Distilleries pay a pretty penny for white oak logs, and those ole' boys made some big $$ before getting busted tree poaching...The distillery eventually became suspicous and called law enforcement.

After some investigation, they got caught red handed.

The guy I know got caught once also, but he said the $5,000 in fines and 2 saws they took weren't even a dent in the amount of guitar billets he sold every year, so he carried on business as usual I assume

Wow, guess crime does pay sometimes...All of them are subject to getting busted again in time....Viscous cycle!

I'd been wanting one to carry on my atv and last summer Husquarna had the little 12" bar T535i XP on a factory sale. The price was right and so were the reviews so I bought one. Wonderful little saw that helped me out of jams a handful of times this trapping season!
