Yesterday afternoon. We had to make the tough decision. Didn’t have the heart to post then but so many of you have been supportive and caring with her battle. Right now everything feels so empty and cold. We are in great pain. But she is not anymore . I miss her so much

This in natural. As you know I recently shot my 10 year old Shepherd. even with the two other dogs and family the house feels empty and something is missing. Then you see some old fading out paw tracks in the mud.

Know it had to be done and was the best thing to end her suffering. For me even though I may not feel like or want to do things keeping busy helps more than laying around dwelling on it. Found this out when my son was killed. I need to keep my hands busy and building things helps at the same time my subconscious works things out .

Jordy helps. He does funny things constantly to brighten me up.
But I miss her presence in the house.
I really don’t know if we will have another dog in our life but I kind of think we need to, with our lifestyle. We took her everywhere, especially since her diagnosis last year.
I don’t wanna set foot in Home Depot now. We took her there twice a week

I've seen it both ways, some seem to miss the departed dog and search for them, others don't care... it may seem silly but I usually let the other dogs see and sniff the pack mate, sort of a mini wake....

I’m out of dogs. She was our last one and helped a lot when we lost Sampson, my beagle. The cats are out of sorts. Jordy is looking for her and Torii has been staying somewhat secluded.

I gave ole Clyde the bullet a few years ago. Never doing that again.
Smash, right now it's an open wound. But it'll heal & scab over, but that scar will never go away.
Time will help.

Went out to toss some sensitive mail into the outdoor boiler this morning and the pup and old border collie wet out with me. When I can in I called the dogs up But I Called for the border collie and my shepherd I just put down. Quite a conflicting bunch of emotions all at once when I realize it. I expect everyone has some of these same issues over time.

You never stop missing a dog, but before long, whenever you think of them, the only thing you feel is that big smile on your face.

Had to put down my “daisy duke “yellow lab last summer
My wife stood by the back sliding door and cried for a month straight

Now we got a new golden named Tex , he never leaves my side ..
He’s laying by my feet right now

I had to have my springer put down years ago, I'll never do that again. I love dogs but will never get another. I just play with my neighbor's dog now.

I love dogs more than people. Seriously.

They are definitely better company.

She loved this. So happy she had many adventures



And comfy evenings out in the yurt
