Starting to pull stuff off the boards and thought I’d post for some of the newer folks on here. First pic is them off the boards. Second is after a good combing to get any knots out of the hair, then they go in Betsy with 5 gallon of corn cobs and a couple cups of water with a dash of paint thinner. 15 minutes later I pull them out and give them a good shake. Like any good American I take full credit for the knowledge and no credits for those whom I learned from grin on the serious side thanks to all the great info over the years to the Tman folks.

I should probably put a pic of Betsy so she doesn’t get her feelings hurt

Once again your hard work shows. Hope the buyers at the auction think the same.

Fur looks awesome!

Thought the addition of paint thinner was interesting. What role does that play?

Pawnee if you are native american and meant the dig like any good american not respecting their elders I can appreciate that comment brother. Great put up. I don't remember anything about adding moisture or paint thinner that must be some inside stuff. Thank you.

Otis taught me that. Adds a bit of oil back since they were washed after skinning. I believe that thread is in the archives.

Posted above about why I ad paint thinner. The 2 cups of water are general anti static electricity measures!!! Static and paint thinner in a closed container are against fur shed safety protocols smile

Nice job. I have always taken a lot of pride in putting up fur and it shows when someone else does as well. People can say its not worth the time and effort, but I disagree.

Beautiful. I hate seeing furs at the auction that are just thrown on boards without fleshing or any work at all put into them. Although it does make furs like yours shine bright in the buyer’s eyes.
