I'll be looking for a compact 9mm soon, 3 1/2 -4" bbl... like a glock 19 but probably not a glock.... Nothing fancy, just needs to go bang every time, all the time....any suggestions GCP or others"? Sig 365 is a nice small gun and shoots well

I'll be looking for a compact 9mm soon, 3 1/2 -4" bbl... like a glock 19 but probably not a glock.... Nothing fancy, just needs to go bang every time, all the time....any suggestions GCP or others"? my son just got the Sig 365XL a couple weeks ago with the Sig romeo zero he is running it with the Wilson combat grip module it shoots really well and carries really well. set on top of my G19 it is nearly the same size but they lost space in all the right places to make it carry much easier 12+1 rounds on the 365xl here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vArvCUoUuQthe trigger seems to have improved from what it was when it came out of the box, it isn't a 1911 , it is a sub compact carry gun but considering that it is good. he was at the range and ran a couple hundred rounds yesterday , he is loving the 365 with dot and Wilson combat grip https://gun.deals/product/sig-sauer-p365xl-9mm-pistol-w-romeo-zero-sight-black-67999the Wilson combat has better grip and geometry than the sig grip , as you might expect. he is still finding a holster he really likes , I forget what his current holster is for it it is a IWB and man does it carry easy I tried it yesterday when he was back from the range much easier to carry than my G19 the Sig weighs just a couple ounces more loaded than what the Glock does empty he had the shot timer out and was running some drills disclaimer he is fast and well trained and shoots competition , but he was running 2.5-2.7 second bill drills from concealment a Bill drill is a draw on the beep 6 rounds on target somethin Bill Wilson was known for this was at 8-9 yards because he was running on steel. 8 yards is minimum safe steel distance. he was also taking it out to some 40 yard targets getting aimed A zone hits just fine A zone is 6 inches wide 12 inches tall center of a torso target you know where you would want to hit someone to make them stop doing bad things.

he was home at lunch , he has been carrying this gun ever day since he got it thinks he is just shy of 500 rounds right now
he did say he would not get the Romeo Zero optic, that he would buy the gun with irons and the optic plate as they don't sell it with the romeo zero package any more
it was new old stock or something when he got it a few weeks ago.
buy the gun with irons , order the Wilson combat grip module he had a couple dots he thought were better than the sig romeo zero

You just described Glock to a "T". I'm not a fanboy, I don't have a Glock hat or shirt and I don't have a Glock sticker on anything I own. I also acknowledge that they're not much to look at, if looks are concerning buy a Kimber. But a Glock is very drama free, they handle day to day abuse and they will still do their job when you call on them. A lot of people don't like the grip angle, but if you practice with it you'll get used to it

I run glocks have a few of them I like them , and if I am not carrying my pocket 9 I carry the G19 gen4 with pinky extensions on the mags because my hands are that big ,but they carry like a brick when you are trying to conceal it , where the thinner guns are easier to conceal
with the pinky extension I can shoot it almost as well as the 17s I run in USPSA
I also skip the t-shirts and such

I think I have a Glock Tshirt from when they cosponsored the Youth Bull Riding Word Finals (YBR. That being said I agree with AK Timber Tramp- if performance is your criteria the Glock isn't just a good option but a great one. My hand is smaller than Petes and the 19 fits my hand very well so I shoot it well.
Back when Texas had a goofy regulation that if you qualified with a revolver that was all you could carry concealed, I grabbed a lightly used 19 at the pawn shop and scored 249 out of 250. It points for me very naturally.

My wife has a 43x that's got a thinner slide and grip, it's very concealable. I have a 19x and a 17 but I don't really carry either very often, I have a g20 and a g29 that both get a lot more carry time (I like 10mm)

the 43x is a nice size , slimmed down shame glock won't make a higher cap mag for it
the shield arms ones are available as 15 round , but you want to change out the mag release the metal mags eat the factory one.

Maybe I'll check out the 43 , we can't have a high capacity mag anyway... what you call high capacity is standard capacity. Requirements for less like 10 rounds from a gun that can hold more is reduced capacity. Using their terms play into their game.

Maybe I'll check out the 43 , we can't have a high capacity mag anyway... there is a 43 and a 43x which has a bigger grip it would be ideal if you can rent one of each at a range and see what you can shoot better. everything about carry guns is how big does it need to be to shoot well , how small can you go to carry it and the answer is a little different for everyone. ounces and fractions of an inch make a difference.

I worry more about it being shootable and less about concealed. I'm not around a large enough population often enough to worry about it. To me concealed more just means tucked into my bibs or under my jacket where my pistol isn't unduly exposed to the weather.

where I live you can walk into the hardware store gun right in the open on your belt no one cares.
however I get to Milwaukee regular I have two kids who live there now, if a cop makes a stop in MKE and sees your gun to think to ask you if you are carrying , they will disarm you and you get to go petition for your gun back in a twice monthly court because they don't authorize cops to give your gun back once they have taken it into custody " for their protection during a stop" or at least that was what they were doing under the last police chief.
so you want to carry but out of sight out of mind.

To me, it's very ugly. Aside from that, I wonder the range it would have with any accuracy. Could you hit a coyote sized target at 100 yards and would it have any energy left? ADC at a hundred yards that coyote is dead meat but beyond say 150 it’s pretty safe as velocity drops pretty fast and bullet drop starts to be a real rainbow after around a hundred yards but at a hundred even with hollow points it will be a complete pass through And I have a Brigade AR 9mm braced pistol with a 5 inch barrel and it will easily make hits on a 6in paper plate at a hundred and I have shot several coyotes at that range or close to it with it and all have been one shot stops, it would have been way easier with a carbine but the pistol can ride loaded on the passenger seat ready for use You could probably take a coyote at 2 or 3 hundred yards if you can get estimate bullet drop it would have the energy to do so but the drop gets extreme at such a distance, but you could do it with practice If you want a 9mm rifle that shares a pistols magazine, I'd rather have the KelTech 2000, light foldable, and good to 100 yds. If you just want to plink and play, just get a 22 I have one of the Kel Tec sub 2000s and compared to the Henry or other rifle type PCCs that thing kicks worse then my savage 308 due no doubt to that straight stock tub putting the recoil straight back into your shoulder and while it’s my most carried PCC riding in my car and going on trips and camping, it’s also my least shot one because it’s so uncomfortable to shoot, but it hand to carry around tucked into a pack or suitcase If you want a 9mm rifle that shares a pistols magazine, I'd rather have the KelTech 2000, light foldable, and good to 100 yds. If you just want to plink and play, just get a 22 and that will get you Glock mags but not Sig P320 or S&W M&P there are a lot of people who just do not find a Glock fits them well so this gives the other options it also has that more traditional look face it some people care about how something looks , it isn't a evil gun if it has walnut after all , then it is a tool of modern rural living. remember the target market are the folks who just moved to that 10 acres they bought during covid so they could get out of the city/burbs and have their picturesque country life. A plus with many of the popular PCCs with the changeable mag wells is that while officially they might come or be available with change outs for the big three of Glock, S&W, and beretta if you go on eBay, Esti, or Facebook marketplace or if you have a 3d printer you can get or make mag inserts for any number of other model mags, I have both a first gen Ruger police carbine in 40 cal which dos not have a mag well adapter and a Gen 2 which does for the big 3 company’s type mags, but I like my CZ 75 and a short time with my 3D printer and poof I had a mag well adapter for it that fit my CZ75 mags
