Any dry anthill dirt around you could reset with?

I used wax dirt but we got a heavy heavy rain then it froze

Can’t reset the trap in mud, wasn’t using a dirthole, they are used to eating my rabbit and squirrel carcasses so I took a small heap of brush and piled it on top of two squirrel carcasses

You can reset. mud has likely dried up some. Get some dry dirt under a bridge or out of a dirt floor barn or out building. Sift it into a bucket. spend 50 cents for a carboard container with a pound of table salt in it. dig a bed a little big. pour in some dry dirt. sprinkle in some salt. Mash your trap in. put a pan cover on or fill under it. add more dry dirt about to the top of the jaws. sprinkle in salt. light covering with dry dirt. Rub some of the dryer mud in sifter to cover it all up. your trap will work till it rains again. Then you need to rebed. Cheap and it works.
