I'm with Brian Mongeau. Why even use a regulator? I don't. Crack the valve so it barely comes out. Use a fiber washer if you are not. Each tank fill comes with a new one from my supplier. Then just gauge how much by time the valve is open. Takes a little experimentation but it is not hard to catch on to.

There is a bit if science to determining flow rate. Check this out:

carbon dioxide

for whatever reason, the link did not work. I euthanized one this morning. Ambient temperature was 59 degrees and a new tank. The regulator sweated a little but still performed without a hitch.

I'm curious to the connectors used to go directly from the tank to a hose. Post a picture and description if you don't mind. Thanks

I'm no good at posting photos....but the tank I get refilled from industrial gasses company.....don't know diameter.....but bought clear heavy tubing to fit exactly and screw it on threads....I keep it short...maybe only 2 feet or less...drill exact size hole for entry into what ever you use....as others said gently open till co2 hissing heard.....some frosting is always visible but only slight...works good for me and is good for catch....
