Bernie is a 1880 London edition which I believe is the 2nd English edition, I am not sure, just wanted a early copy and didn't want to pay for 1st edition

A sad story. About 36 years ago to be exact. I went to a auction and there was African hunting books in wood sealed containers/boxes like 4 foot long by 3 foot. A few of these boxes. The auctioneer sold them by the box. I had a few hundred dollars to my name and no idea that these would be be at the auction because I could not preview as I was in the hospital the day before as my son was born. A shrewd buyer was bidding and buying for a LA book dealer. Sold anywhere from $500 to $800 per box.
