Hedgeapple is easy to grow. I wonder what kind of money could be made on an acre just planted in it for posts?

Good quality osage bow staves are selling for 150 to 200. Need to be relatively straight, relatively knot free, 4 inches across the back and 6ish feet long. Not many osage trees make good quality staves.

And hedge will make a wood stove hum.
I sell hedge posts. Cut when I get an order.
Triple dip on the deal. Guvment program pays me to do timber stand improvement. This includes removing hedge from my oak/hickory timber. Sell the posts and cut the tops for firewood.
Ya wanna mix the hedge with other wood when you load the stove lol.

They used to use hedge for posts here but not many still using wood for fences. Still find some in old fences and they are solid as a rock.

If you can find a hedge post in the right type of ground it is worth good money to wood workers
They call it green hedge, sucked up some kind of minerals from the ground and is a very nice green color

The few black locusts we have here I pull and add to the burn pile. only ones I have seen wouldn't even make a good stay in a fence, real small

My brother cracked the wood box in a new Ashley stove by burning dry hedge by itself.

Hedge grows in my area, but it's not common. I have no hedgeapple trees on my farm. I want to plant some for bow staves. How long from seed to stave?
